Mammotion announces a new LUBA AWD version
Mammotion just gave us a look at the next generation of its flagship robotic mower—and there's a lot to be excited about.
The new LUBA 4 AWD, unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin, builds on the technology that has made the LUBA family one of the most capable robotic mowing platforms available today.
What's New With LUBA 4 AWD?
One of the biggest upgrades is Mammotion's new 360° Tri-Fusion positioning system, combining 360° LiDAR, NetRTK positioning and four-camera AI vision. The system gives LUBA 4 a much better view of its surroundings while maintaining precise positioning in challenging areas.
LUBA 4 also introduces independent front-wheel steering and bidirectional mowing. Instead of constantly making U-turns at the end of each mowing pass, the mower can change direction and continue mowing—helping create smoother turns and reducing wear on the turf.
And LUBA remains LUBA: all-wheel drive and the ability to handle slopes up to an impressive 80% grade (38.6°).
Another exciting development is an optional edge-trimming module, designed to reach beyond the mower's normal cutting area and further reduce the amount of manual trimming needed.
Should You Wait for LUBA 4?
That's probably going to be one of the first questions people ask us.
For homeowners ready to stop mowing today, the announcement of LUBA 4 doesn't make LUBA 3 obsolete.
LUBA 3 AWD is already an extremely advanced robotic mower, combining LiDAR, RTK positioning, AI vision and all-wheel drive into a machine capable of handling large and challenging lawns.
More importantly, you can put a LUBA 3 to work on your lawn now.
Technology will always keep advancing. Waiting for every future feature can mean spending another season mowing while today's technology is already capable of eliminating most of that work.
For someone buying later, LUBA 4 looks extremely exciting.
For someone who wants to stop mowing now, LUBA 3 remains an outstanding choice.
Robotic Lawn Care Is Moving Fast
What excites us most about LUBA 4 is what it says about the industry.
Robotic mowing has quickly progressed from boundary wires and basic navigation to LiDAR, AI vision, satellite positioning, all-wheel drive, independent steering and now automated edge trimming.
At RoboLawn, we believe we're watching a fundamental change in how lawns are maintained—and LUBA 4 is another exciting step forward.
